TO MY MOTHER
TO MY MOTHER

And you left without any fuss
Tip toeing out of my life
Leaving a void cannot fill up
Into its depth sink often enough
Rising out of it, have to strive
Learning to live, without your love
It's all your fault dear Mum
You gave me lessons on love
How to add, multiply, and divide
But failed to teach any subtraction
Now I dont know how to deal
With minus you from my life
Hurts to recall those fun times
Your reciting verses from the Ramayan
Your voice rings in my ears
Regaling stories of war and valor
Of Kings, Emperors, employing unfair means
Steeling me to face odds unseen
Cocooned in your love, felt protected
I never learnt any coping mechanism
Without you, I'm floundering in darkness
My mind cauterized, emotions like icicles
I miss you Mother every day
My life runs in slow motion
