Time Warp
Time Warp
My thoughts caught up in a time warp
Flitting between the past and the future
Sometimes editing the past, rearranging the future.
It does rarely stay in the present.
Am I living a life of dreams, I wonder!
I wake up to the dawn that is real
Aches and pains in the ageing body I feel.
Then the reel begins, and I travel across times.
Days go by in a blur; if you ask me what I did yesterday or a day before
There is not a detail, worth a recall.
Oh yes! A good meal I had that I remember
It wasn't a food victual or a day of festival.
I read about a war unable to distinguish who is the bully.
Morality of humanity in a state of calamity!
Between right and wrong shades of grey
My life ain't bad like for the ones caught up in the war, they are made to pay.
In the evening I walked by a park on an avenue
Things I knew about, life gave me a fresh cue.
I looked at ordinary scenes anew; my mood became light.
Tightness in the chest relaxed, replaced by delight.
Nothing big will happen in my life, I know
It's the little things I need to count.
To keep my head above the water
Not to worry, this alone does matter.
