Tight-Lipped
Tight-Lipped
We are tumbling aloof,
Frantic to love and be loved.
Digging through for people and places, And instances that will restore the breaks in our shattered portions.
In a world where transparency is a revolutionary myth,
We never declare what we mean.
We internalize instead of articulate, Prevailing in solitude instead of the alliance,
Living ambiguously instead of authentically,
Feigning indifference to prevent disclosing the vulnerability,
So committed to conforming to social norms-
That we would rather amputate ourselves than tell the people we love that we love them.
