Through The Mountains

Through The Mountains

The backpacker I became, ready to travel

A wink of ecstasy jolting my stomach

Anxious to explore and unravel.

The journey amidst hills with mist entangle

The paradigm of beauty enhanced by snow all around,

Hiding beneath in the blanket lies the gravel.

The month of January skipped a beat at navel

Subminimal temperature froze water till the face

But the feel of clouds, so engraving to the skin

didn't forfeit my travel.

The buzz of localities was tuned to the marvel

Installing their shops and alluring the travelers

However hard the snow sat like sands on the beach,

They Sift with a shovel.

Hovering at night a frozen lake did I unravel

The lights peaking through the windows

Gazed at the lake so cold,

Resting beneath the blanket was the thirst of the navel.

A talk to mountains with a cup of tea was the end

Of my travel, its calm I had already begun to miss

Nearing the time to bid farewell

Traveling as high as hills and as deep as valleys

Will forever be a bliss.
