This Rain

Sheds its burden ever so gently,

Lifting the murk off à horizon sunken in fleecy broken dreams,

Injecting its patience forthrightly of having waited,

With bated breath anchored in vast skies suspended in bizarre incarnations,

Shooting confetti of distilled oceans into a ground that feigns nonchalance, even indifference,

Not knowing it melts away in sheer delight as slush and fondue of angst,

For earth waits too, watching tides swell to fly away to distant leagues beyond her reach,

This rain is a vertical bridge letting earth and sky embrace to merge in unison,

As one breath of relief is exhaled in the tremulous zephyrs of a passing season,

“Nothing lasts forever,” says this rain that soaked parched earth,

As its waters flow away bounding to the sea,

Where relentlessly unravels Life, Death, and Rejuvenation.
