The Unspoken Embrace

The Unspoken Embrace

The chilled evenings,

sun setting low,

 she stood there,

 tired of waiting for him,

wondering if he'd ever come.

 She looked at the sky,

hope flickering like the fading light,

 but as she turned back,

her heart heavy with doubt,

she heard footsteps approaching.

She turned,

and there he was,

 running towards her,

 each step bringing him closer.

 Her heart,

beating louder, faster,

no doubt he could hear it too.

He reached her,

their gazes locked,

time froze—

 the world stood still.

 Closer he came,

 wrapped her in his arms,

 held her tight,

the hug spoke everything,

no words needed.

 The breeze,

 the rustling of leaves,

 the passing moments,

 they paused.

The air itself held its breath.

He could feel her tears,

falling softly on her cheeks.

His face, buried in her hair,

 his hoodie soaked the tears,

 but she didn’t mind it,

 didn’t care.

 The chilled evening

had turned into something warm,

an embrace,

 a memory unfolding.

 In that moment,

words were not necessary—

 the hug spoke it all.

Her ear pressed to his chest,

she heard his heartbeat,

steady yet louder,

each beat a promise,

 a silent vow.

And in that embrace,

they didn’t need the world,

 just each other.

 No longer waiting,

no longer wondering,

 just them.

 It’s rightly said,

 Sometimes,

words don’t mean what the heart feels.

 But in that hug,

 everything was clear.
