The Truth of the Night
The Truth of the Night
Every cloud has a silver lining they say,
But what about the dark clouds that are still there,
Shine and glisten they may,
But they’re still engulfed in darkness
And what about the moon,
Who’s always overshadowed by the sun,
Forced to live in the darkness, la pauvre lune,
Forever neglected, while it’s masked by the sun’s incandescence.
And the beautiful stars, glowing in the dark like a candle,
While the sun reigns over them,
With more ferocity than they can handle.
After all, the sun is also a star,
And while it may be a better version of them all,
it is not perfect, not by far.
