Cypress Tree
Cypress Tree

Beside the bubbling brook of life lays the cypress tree,
Its veins twirl around and stretch, far and free,
Innocent roots seek guilt-ridden pleasure,
In draining the soil of its life.
Light that was once bursting with life
Is extinguished without a second thought,
And the goal that was once sought,
Is neglected and disregarded,
As all hope is lost, now and forever.
Round and round the cypress tree whirls,
It pirouettes and with dainty finesse, twirls,
Oblivious of everything that surrounds it.
