I am a sweeper, now

In good condition to look

Prominently common figure

Broom, duster, brush, shovel

Are my tools, weapons with

Which I remove dust, dirt

Debris, garbage, anything waste

Everywhere, anytime, personal or public

Though absolutely essential, without

Which hygiene will be in danger,

Was looked down upon, very low

Wage lived in the worst conditions

Mahatama Gandhi cleaned our hutments

Called us Harijanas, help us,

With other Godmen’s efforts

Our conditions have been improved

To be frank enough, we

Live in good houses

In good localities, some

Of our children have made nice

Progress got profound knowledge,

Higher posts and salaries
