The Road To Happiness

The road to daily happiness,

Is not so hard to find,

You walk ahead serenely,

And leave all your cares behind.

A word of cheer upon your lips,

A helping hand to give,

A smiling face, a healing touch, 

Will help you well to live.

To know you've dried a single tear,

And made one moment bright,

Or struck a feeble spark to cheer,

In the darkest hour of night,

Will give to you more joy at last,

Than Caesar's triumphs gave,

The memory of such deeds will live,

In worlds beyond the grave.

If you are content with life,

And find joy in little things,

If you count your blessings, 

Happiness dances and sings.

The road to happiness is trod,

By simple folks, tender-hearted,

Folks that worship The Almighty God, 

And want to live their days unparted.

The road to happiness is lined,

Not with friends of royal splendor,

But with the loyal friends so kind,

That do gentle deeds - so tender.

The road to happiness certainly, 

Does not lead to pomp and glory,

But it winds among the joys and woes,

That make the humble toiler's story.

The road to daily happiness,

Is not so hard to find,

It's what you do for others,

That brings true peace of mind!
