At school

It started 

It was cool

He joined– crew

Went with– flow 

Peer pressure– flew

Pressured— as in pressure-cooker 

He got hooked 

He got cooked

  Bone- soft

He lost direction 

He lost orientation

He lost himself

He lost school

Full of potential—he was

Teachers tried in vain 

Community watched in pain

Parents went insane

They saw him lose sanity 

Insanity bought him

And used him at will

Left him for vultures 

A distant family member 

From a distant town

Picked up a signal 

— troubled family

— troublesome boy

— crumbling family

— crumbling boy

A seasoned addictionologist—

He took charge 

It was not easy 

To untie the knot

It was worth the salt

He was finally resuscitated 

A rare second chance

Relapse— enemy to watch &beat

Get to youths—

It's not cool— at school 

To pull from—dirt pools

You will be pulled in— by fools

They are full—in schools 

Be wise– be warned

Drugs will drag you down a steep slope

And sniff life out of you.
