The Plea Of An Indian
The Plea Of An Indian
They want to make it London,
They want to turn it into Paris,
They want to mold it in Newyork.
They want to do that everything
Which perhaps enhance the glamor,
But dear sir/ma'am have you ever thought
Who will be the casts of your silver screen?
Dear sir/ma'am have you ever ponder
Who will be shown off in your montage?
The people who don't even have two square meal!
Or the people who don't have a shelter!
And the people who've to spend their night on the footpath?
Oh, sir an ma'am, we don't want to be like someone else.
We don't even want the glamor like someone else.
We don't want that camouflage you want for us.
We really like what we are,
We really like to be the Indians,
We really really like to be in India,
And don't want any London, Paris or Newyork.
So please don't enforce your ambitions on us,
We don't want it, we don't need it.
We just want a full meal for everyone,
We only want a roof on our head,
And we want the security of our mother
And father, brother and sister and for every one of us.
In a democracy, we want a representative,
Not a leader autocratic.
This is India, our beloved India
Who have acquired it's long-desired freedom
Just a few years back after many bloodsheds of our heroes.
Now, please don't try to make it a Germany of '40s.
Don't don't don't do it..
