Was it A Dream?
Was it A Dream?
As I sat beside you, holding your arm tight,
My head on your shoulder, a sense of peace took flight.
I was sitting, not sleeping, yet my silence was deep,
As if I was in a doze, my heart beating soft and slow.
I watched you compose a poem, meant only for me,
Your words were reflecting the love you wanted to be.
You tried to pour your heart out, but words betrayed,
Leaving you with a frown, and a heart that's dismayed.
Even in your greatest displeasure, it's a pleasure to see,
Your face, a design of emotions, was a beauty to me.
But now, hey, where are you?
I'm searching, but I don't know what to do.
Was it a moment of long lost time,
Or a mere dream, echoing our love's chime?
