The Parijat

Parijat, the divine one, gracing the earth for you and me

The heavenly Parijat, dweller of Urwashi’s garden, as beautiful as she.

Krishna’s gift to Rukhmani is indeed a flower of love divine

It’s sweet perfume, mesmerising my mind 

It’s munificence appropriate to its divinity

Bestowing health to the needy 

It captures my heart with its tiny neat look

The saffron and white are tiny stars adorning the tall trees every nook

The flowers fall silently, earth catches them oh ! so softly

 I keep gazing at the white stars fallen in my garden, I pick them up gently

I hold them in the cup of my hand, admiring them for longest moments 

Thanking Krishna for bringing the tree of heaven to us mortals
