The Sun and Moon

Were Enemies

But the Sun’s son and Moon’ daughter

Were Lovers

The Sun and Moon

Never saw each other, any day

Their children

Would not miss their rendezvous everyday

Soon, the secret was known

And the Sun and Moon began to groan

They became Conspirators

To separate the inseparable Lovers

The Sun kept watch all day

And the Moon, all Night

So that the Lovers

Could not meet, try as they might.

Brothers, Stars felt sad

To see their sister suffer so

They called the mothers Dawn and Dusk,

To make a breakthrough

The Dawn retained the Sun in her chamber

For a few minutes more

And the Dusk did not let the Moon

Go on duty afore.

Now, the Children of the Sun and Moon

Met neither at midnight nor hot noon

But Dawn and Dusk ensure their union

Whilst, the Stars Chorus happily in unison
