The Lost Love

The Lost Love

If I told you, would you believe;

That comfort could still be found in harsh daylight,

Under the invigorating shade of the soul that bleeds,

With a vibrant soporific melody?

So let's sit by the tranquil grove,

Not when the earth plays in the lap of twilight,

But under the flaxen rays that the sun grandeurly wove

Tightening the harmonious chord of our symphony.

If I told you; would you believe,

That the darkest of hearts have felt the greatest shame?

As their souls were once viciously betrayed

And were dragged into an odious; poignant game.

So let's ask dark who once was the queen;

Of dreams; freedom; aspirations and might.

How someone stole everything from her one day,

And made her the absence of light.

If I told you; would you believe,

That in love there is endless pain?

For look at the sun who dearly loved the placid moon;

Then they were doomed into an eternity of grief and vain.

And then the Sun was granted a hallowed boon;

To see her; but behind the veil of the nightly domain!

So ask the Sun does it hurt to die when the stars wrap it in their cocoon,

And does it heal watching the moon glow again?

If I told you; would you believe,

You and I were meant to be a beautiful story?

But without you; as I lie on this cold ground,

My soul has become an inferno of sad songs and poetry,

And my heart breaks slowly; devoid of any sound.

So every evening as my fingers twirl the glass of wine;

I still hope that someday you will call me by your name,

And I shall call you by mine.
