The Land that I Love
The Land that I Love

My eyes caught
The bright golden sand
Stretched far away
And I hate my land
I found the flame
On top of the snow peaks
Enchanting heights
I can’t escape
I tread the woods
With sticks and twigs
Forgot my room
As the charm was big
Ocean made me wet
And my heart was set
Shells endlessly polished by the tides
Shore is where I want to glide
A sudden drop of water
Touched my brow
I cried of happiness
As it was time to plough
I turned my fallow
Into a land full of cane
My mind got the delight
From the ground which was a bane
A vestige of thought
That I once had
Now, no other place
Can make me so glad
