The Gods
The Gods
My mother,
She worships two Gods
She has same prayers to offer to both of them,
She wishes for the same things,
Thinking that maybe either of them would listen to her first.
Yet I never see her asking anything for herself,
She prays for my father,
To both the Gods
Even when he wants her to stay loyal only to his God, in many cruel ways.
Yet I see her praying for his happiness.
She unknowingly prays
For her struggles to last because
My father's happiness comes from that.
But me, I pray to all the Gods for her happiness.
Because she spends every minute of her life praying for me,
Even though her Gods don't listen to her everytime,
I hope mine do.
Because somewhere we're all waiting
For the happiness we deserve
To dawn upon us.
