The Eternal Blame

The Eternal Blame

2 mins
359

Hiding under the blanket of dark black night

For your flesh, they crawl like wild animals

But when the sun rises high, shining in the sky

Claiming to be Virtuous, they stone her to bleed

Screaming high, that she is the sinned one

For their sins, they blamed and punished her

It was undoubtedly Rishi Kanvar’s mistake

That he mistook the call of the rooster as true

The wicked Indra came disguised as Kanva

Innocent Akalya was victimized and violated

Still, it was she, who was cursed to become a stone

For their mistake, they blamed and punished her

It was Pandava husbands who gambled

Failing shamelessly, they heartlessly pawned her

And as the coward men folk stood and watched

It was Dhrowpathi who had to bear the blunt

In a full-court, it was she who was stripped

For the men’s mistake, she was blamed and punished

It was Lord Rama who made the terrible error

Getting fooled by the charm of a golden deer

In his hunger to win, he ran leaving Sita vulnerable

Villain Ravana was too quick to kidnap

It was Sita who suffered humiliation and pain

Still, it was she, who was asked to walk the burning fire

For all those men’s folly, she was blamed and punished

From time eternal to the present day

The world had changed and men call them civilized

But one thing had not changed and will never change

Men will do all their folly and cross all the limits

Burn, torture, abuse women to their heart’s content

Still for any sin, surely she will be blamed and punished
