The Destroyer
The Destroyer
Somewhere in the Himalayas,
where it is all covered in snow
a saint meditates deeply,
whom no one ever saw.
Long wavy hairs or dreadlocks,
tied together in a bun,
spinning along with dreadlocks swirling
which often greets destruction.
Seems to be calm,
when in a deep meditative contemplation,
but inside his head,
he either ponders over devastation or creation.
His description is singular
as he is unique.
Snakes slithering around,
while he intends to sleep
Throat colored blue,
handles a trishula with damaru tied.
Third eye to burn all the evil,
holy river Ganges flowing aside.
He laid under Kaali
to calm her rage, erst.
Drank all the poison, once
was that just to gratify his thirst ?
Bhrama, Vishnu, Mahesh,
he is a part of the trinity.
A masculine body, alongside Parvati,
the one who strengthens his femininity.
Shiva, bhola, rudraksh,
a man with every trait
I pray and praise such a lord
whom datura, milk, bhaang are often served as bait.
Simple as he seems,
destructive he appears,
we call him the destroyer,
melted by love, whom nothing fears !! …
