THE BERRIES
THE BERRIES
Stranger, Stranger, I screamed running fast behind him
Berries he had, hand full. So many colors, but orange was the best
Give me a few, I never had seen a berry, I begged him pitifully
Neither did he look, nor did he stop to give me, even a single berry
Stranger, Stranger, for these berries I started chasing, he ran faster
Without a moment’s hesitation, I kept trailing him madly, blindly
The colour of berries luring me calling me loud, me, filled with greed
Behind him, I ran, into the thick forest, thought of nothing but berries
Stranger, Stranger, now lost alone in the dark forest, scared I cried
No more, I need no berries, keep them all, Never will I ask again
Your strong hand is the only one I ask, to save my life, to live again
Hold me tight and pull me out from this forest deep, dark and lonely
Stranger, stranger man runs behind a thousand wishes, not Him
A world full of earthly desires, like coloured berries, lures to sin
Chasing blindly, greedy desires, one loses the path of divinity, love
But stuck in deep despair, he cries for only His hand to save him
