Drama Tragedy

The Bear

The Bear

1 min 130 1 min 130

He looks through the steel bars

At all the people staring

He cries softly, mad inside

Wanting to roar in anger

But bears shouldn't be a display

Inside a tiny cage

They're supposed to go out and hunt for fish

In rivers at the jungle's edge

They should be climbing trees

To steal the honeycombs

And sip every drop of honey

Until he's more than full

Instead he's stuck inside a cage

All he can do is quietly rage

And as he looks at passers-by

He remembers the good old times

The free, the wild and open jungles

Where he'd laze around every day

Before that metal snapped shut

And he couldn't even run away

Now he stares at empty skies

Which once was filled with lovely stars

And wishes, for the umpteenth time,

To go back there where he belongs
