That Rainy Day On The Cobbled Street

That Rainy Day On The Cobbled Street

I remember that rainy day on the cobbled street,

A memory dappled with softened light,

Hanging somewhere between bitter and sweet,

‘twas indeed the coldest summer night.

Your memory is slowly withering away,

And floating with the dandelion seeds.

Even though I am losing yesterday,

You continue to visit me in my dreams.

I still wait for you to join me on the bridge,

A piece of you still lives in me,

And every song dancing with the breeze,

Speaks of you fondly.

I find your face in the cerise sky,

And in the passing lights on a train ride.

I see with your brilliant amber eyes,

The snowflakes falling in mellow delight.

You are now a patchy remembrance to me,

That rainy day seems like a lifetime ago,

Yet I continue to love deeply,

You and your magical glow.
