Be With Me Tonight
Be With Me Tonight
I have spent the evening with you.
You spend the night.
I have a star-studded sky, and you possess two beautiful eyes.
Gaze at me, talk to me.
Cover me with your skin.
Give flesh to my bones.
May our breath ensure life on this beautiful planet.
The mirror is not enough.
I want to see my face in your eyes.
Be my dream tonight.
Let us carry all the seas, known and unknown.
Let us scale all the peaks, known and unknown.
You take me to invisible destinations.
I will take you to uncharted shores.
Be with me tonight.
Now that I am facing a storm.
Now that I am becoming naked, shedding all leaves.
Only branches, trunks, and roots are left.
All that I have is a palm with scratches,
A head held high,
Two eyes sans dreams.
Be my dream tonight.
With a rainbow of words,
The world is nothing but a painting of words when you are with me!
May I touch your lips, the storehouse of words?
May I kiss your cheek, the doorway to all the romances?
Be with me tonight; I am feeling very lonely.
Wherever eyes go, blood,
Wherever eyes go, devastation,
Even my breath became fury.
Walls all around, imprisoned I am.
Everywhere pieces of sky, as if a loaf of bread, the moon!
Dead are trees, asleep all those birds with all the wings,
Never murmuring the brook of life,
Dead to the song of the earth.
Be with me tonight when the alphabets of poetry speak to one another in a whispering tune.
Sing a song in my ear that will bite my earlobe,
Embrace me as if you are the passionate death and ours the final embrace.
