That One Bright Spot
That One Bright Spot
That one bright spot
Among the meditating leaves
Soaked in sunshine,
Startled me with its boldness
To stand upright in its simplicity
Blooming unapologetically.
That one bright spot
Pierced my heart
With its innocent poise,
And challenged me
To survive the thorns
And be the red rose.
That one bright spot
Just like the red sindoor bindi
On my mother's forehead,
Blazing like the melting glow
Of the resplendent sunset
On the vast vast horizon of being.
