He was the protector of weak

Who taught the world to be quiet, gentle, and meek.

The feeling of humanity was infused in his mind, body, and soul

He wanted people to master the art of self-control.

Guided the nation towards the path of peace

And felt the need for greed and desires to cease.

The one who never ran after materialistic things

Till today divinity to the soul he brings.

He spread the idea of jiwan mukti

He was against racism and preached bhakti.

He carried forward the light of sanctity

He solemnly believed in charity.

He indoctrinated about sorrow and death

For the freedom in faith, he gave up his own breath.

He enlightened people to get rid of vices like flattery

He knew the true meaning of spirituality.

He was the zephyr in the hailstorm of the plight

O, Guru! I wish I could see you through my sight.
