SUNFLOWERS
SUNFLOWERS
While strolling through a meadow for miles,
I stretched my sight as far as my eyes could reach.
There they stood, all alone yet determined
A host of golden sunflowers, in a garden full of red roses
They grew up feeling they didn't belong there
Yet they had beauty to them which radiated brightly from within,
Wild and beautiful drenched in the sun
Under the sun, through the rain, they bloomed all the same.
Despite knowing they won't be here for long,
They still choose to live their brightest lives.
And yet the dry spell seeks to knock them down
Their golden beauty turns parched brown
Their seeds get scattered into the depths of nature
And then after an onerous process they bloom..
I stood there motionless and still ,
Pondered over the sunflowers under the shining sun,
And so are we , like sunflowers,
We shed only to learn how to prosper again,
They apprise us of how beautiful things will bloom after the longest seasons of waiting.
