Stirred At Heart
Stirred At Heart
In the golden age, 'heroes' of old
In tales and ballads, we were told
Men of great stature and bold
Was it their, nature born?
Or the craftsman's hand in mold
Believe not! meekly what we'd been told
Indeed a mighty arm at play
To stirr a surface still in day
Hurry in, act now, you may
Whether divine or devil's pay
To 'know' is the wisdom, we pray
'A plot' set in motion on the way
A heart so willing, but flesh unwilling
With swords and armor before a foe unyielding
To the battle, without an ending
Yet glimpses of victory, over horizon trending
Only grey men walk the earth breathing
The bitter truth we've been waiting
