"Smoke and Mirrors"
In twisted hands, a burning stick
A slow poison, a fatal trick
The world knows well, the dangers told
Yet, smokers puff, their health to unfold
A packet's warning, a graphic sight
A diseased lung, a dying light
But still they smoke, with reckless pride
Their addiction, a fatal stride
A cigarette's smoke, a serpent's sway
Luring victims, night and day
It wraps around, a deadly hold
Squeezing life, from young and old
The nicotine's grip, a velvet chain
Binding smokers, in a fatal game
They try to quit, but can't resist
The smoke's allure, a siren's twist
Their lungs, a battlefield, scarred and worn
Their breath, a struggle, a mournful morn
Their health, a gamble, lost and spent
Their future, uncertain, a lament
But still they smoke, in denial's haze
Their addiction, a slow, cruel daze
Until it's too late, and they must face
The consequences, a fatal, empty space
So let this be, a warning true
A smoker's fate, a lesson anew
For in the smoke, a mirror's gaze
Reflects the danger, in a fatal daze.
