Shield To My Baby foot

The day I was born,

For my parents, it was a beautiful dawn.

It's a babygirl, its a babygirl,

Some people said "she'll make your future dull",

But for my parents, I was precious as a pearl.

The day I uttered my 1st word,

My dad in his arms flew me like a bird.

My mom taught me how to walk,

She also taught me to respect elders & at them never to mock.

Whenever I came 1st in my exams,

My parents said I made them proud,

My dad bought me chocolates, toys in my palms,

And told me with my efforts, I can pass any dark cloud.

When I grew,

My attitude was new.

Mom & dad gave me a scolding,

Because mannerless I was becoming.

I realized my faults due to this scolding,

And this once again strengthened our bonding.

Behind that harsh scolding & slaps,

Is hidden infinite love & care's lap.

Parents are god's resource,

Value & respect this life's heroes.

With each drop of sweat,

They ensure for their family, nothing's hard to get.

They work hard day & night,

To afford us a future i.e. bright.

Some kids have one,

While some have none,

Be thankful to God if you've parents that earn,

And from whom you can always learn.

Protecting you like an umbrella from life's rain,

When you're hurt, they are the balm to cure the pain,

They are the ones to feed you the grain,

To ensure you have a problem-solving brain.

Their hands are the shield to your baby foot,

Remember to be their shield when they're greying & losing the 1st tooth.
