Self-inflicted Curse

Self-inflicted Curse

You used to smile

When you kissed me,

And then I broke your heart.

Now those kisses

Are just history,

I left you in the dark.

Our memories still flood my mind.

I can’t forgive myself.

I walked away

With you behind

And now

You’re somewhere else.

I sabotaged the life we had.

Not better but for worse.

Now you're shining, and

I'm sad.

A self-inflicted

Curse.

How can I forgive myself?

You’re the best I’ll ever taste.

I have a hole within my soul,

Your love, I cant

Replace.

I miss your lips,

No longer mine

But someone else’s gold.

Not a day progresses by

Where I’d decline

Your hold.
