Reason
Reason

Reason
Give me a reason to live,
Dare not speak of love
For it's often been the knell.
Did I hear you suggest fine dining,
Spare me the twists of food poisoning.
Give it a deeper probe,
Let life present its best case,
Find me a cause
To rouse and rise.
I heard you murmur 'propagation',
I imagine I would be lost in the population,
To die as a protestor or
Soldier ' in line of duty.
I could be the relentless worker, ant or bee,
Serving a social need.
Be kind to the value of life
Find me a worthy premise,
Then to argue human ego
Exhib
ited within or at battle lines.
Say it loud
It better be good enough.
Spiritual! You exhaled,
Made me pause and wander
In the corridors beyond my mind.
I meditated and observed,
In the layers below and beyond
The reactions of the mind.
The question did echo
'Who am I'.
I did feel the stillness of an ocean,
Creation and creator did merge.
Give me a while to reopen my query
Lest it sounds like a quest.
Give me some time to ponder and wander.
Let me soak some more
Of this ocean,
Let me ask them the reason
Let me not run into treason.
