The Fourth Wall: My True Self
The Fourth Wall: My True Self

I’m stuck in a room with four walls
And two windows standing wide and tall
While sitting on this bed like a bean
I just noticed that one is yellow and three are green
I’ve never been so lonely
Neither physically nor mentally
People call and text you the first day
But remember, it’s only YOU all the way
While I start to wonder
what these walls are like, I think,
Would they shout out if given a Mike
Or stay silent like a lonely night
Do these walls have feelings too
Just the way we humans do
Is it their capability to compress it
Or our inability to explore it
You may be happy on the outside
Broken in the inside, But
These four walls
Know it all
From when we are a small bean
To now being fifteen
These four walls have seen you grow
And supported you without letting you go
I’m not talking about the walls
Made of brick and cement
Talking about those
Who are in your life very prominent
First wall stands for your family
Who is with you till the very end
Next are your gurus
Who teach you the difference between right and wrong and good and bad...
Third comes your friends
Because of whom
Your days start with a laugh
And the same it ends
Who do you think is the fourth wall
That your life depends on?
Little did you know
It’s your true self which is yet to be found
How far can the three walls
Guide and support you?
Till their very last breath
But what if that’s before you?
Learn to be strong
Learn to be bold
In this changing world
You, yourself should shine like gold
Stop wasting time on others
Work on yourself; Work on your goals
At the end of the day, all that matters
Is how far you could go
Build these four walls strong and tall
and keep in mind
Three walls without the fourth
will not stand but fall!
