The Three Crying Girls
The Three Crying Girls
The three girls wept in one corner as people passed by
But no one stopped to ask them why.
They say girls cry because they are weak
The start to stammer even before they can speak
But these traumatized faces have stories
Which are unheard but not untold?
Because you start to judge me before it all unfolds
You say that my issues are too small, to petty to deliberate,
You say that I am over dramatic and I instigate.
But you only say this because you can never relate
Neither can you comprehend nor understand,
When the situation has got out of your hand.
You make the truth sound like a twisted lie,
You sit and stare while I shout and cry
You claim that the victim is the culprit,
And want to showcase me as the antagonist.
You can say that I am not strong,
But I will defend till death to prove you wrong
You can’t change the truth,
You can ignore what I say.
But my whispers will haunt you
I have seen dark times, I have been through pain.
But it only unleashes the animal inside me that you can’t tame,
You can knock me down,
You can make me frown and you can make me fall,
But I will still rise above you and stand tall.
You can question my identity,
My truth and my originality.
But your verdict doesn’t change me or my story.
So you can play with my words all you want,
But you can’t do this for very long.
Because, someday you will realize,
That you were alone in the battle you started.
And that we were armed and brave hearted.
Someday you will realize that what needs to change,
Is your mind set not the worlds.
And in that realization you will see,
That we were not just some crying three girls
