Raindrops Of My Parched Heart

Your absence has gone through me like,

A dewdrop descending down from a leaf cuticle,

Leaving no traces of your presence,

Getting absorbed in the loam,

As if to never come back,

But then returning back to my soul,

To make me feel whole,

Through the roots which are disseminated,

Deep into your memories,

The raindrops fall,

They too get lost,

Just the way I do,

They nurture the plant,

Just like your memories nurture me,

Though your words haunted me always,

Your fake promises hallucinated me,

Yet I look back to feel the spark,

As it is the only light in my dark,

My parched heart moans,

The tremor travels through my bones,

But you like a raindrop have evaporated,

And I like a deeply buried root stay still,

For you to come back and fill,

The voids created by your gloomy rain,

So that I can get rid of my infinite pain,

But like the dark clouds,

You have floated away,

With the air of your past love,

You should have kept it at bay,

But now that you are aloof,

I shall find a rainbow,

Or wait,

For I can be my own light now,

Spreading enlightenment to my own soul,

As you no more play any role.
