Prayer Of The Heart

Prayer Of The Heart

But o! But o! Her to herself so much pain brings,

Enduring it all alone she awaits a happy spring.

Nay! She does much wrong! Why stain a lovely face with tears?

Damn me! How can I make so much merry when so much she bears?

Angelic as a person, dainty as a woman and beautiful as a lover-

Nest in her, ol' folly spirit of joy, 'tis around her you ought to hover!

Give her all the joy and may her smile warm my frosty heart.

Save her from all tears to come,

Eradicate all the sufferings that may come,

Navigate the path she must walk,

Lock away thorns of the pain she must walk.

All these, because I love her.
