PEACE IN WAR (Nov.22. Theme: Superpower)

The skill to overcome odds comes from within, rather than without,

Power of self-expression is that skill, from all senses about,

The power of the pen, the freedom to express one’s own feelings,

It is the all-pervasive glory that can touch almost all ceilings.

I feel that true power within me, while writing,

I sit down at my table, at all times, amid the cold biting.

Nations have fought with each other, in order to exert power,

The greed to exploit the vulnerable only sinks men to depths lower.

Millions had died when the two World Wars were fought,

Existential crisis of man to gain supremacy, came to naught.

Peace teaches powers that wings of the dove reach higher than any bomb,

Hitler dreamt to rule the world, met with sad end, because of hubris aplomb.

Wars bring mass destruction in its wake, render people homeless and insane,

We, the inheritors of history, can sit back, contemplate and parry with mock disdain!
