Is a reminder
Of one's aliveness.
Though nasty,
That feeling of pain
Tells us
That we aren't numb.
Once felt profoundly,
Almost likely to death,
It becomes the scale
Of our sentience.
During heartbreaks,
It reminds us of our losses.
And during accidents,
It reminds us of our drive.
Pain,
A feeling we truly loathe,
Can teach us a lot,
About ourselves and life.
