Our Last Day

I looked back on the day you walked apart

And all I was left with,

Was my shattered heart.

I tried to persuade you to come back 

But you couldn't hear.

You kept pointing at how I went wrong

I kept weeping saying that,

I was the one who made the mistakes

Oh! My dear, please come back.

A hundred words in my mouth and

thousands in my mind

But none gave away its way.

At last, you left saying, I didn't care

And asked if I had something to say

But to the hell of opportunities

My answers remained the same.

The words he couldn't hear and

the ones I couldn't speak off.

So much done 

Yet so much left unheard and unsaid.

Beyond the truth, pain, and love

There lies my beauty and never-ending love

Captured in mere memory to mend forever and on.
