ONCE UPON A TIME
ONCE UPON A TIME
What if I read to you a story starting "once upon a time"
And you realise it was your life spelt out on every line
Would you be silent in wonder?
As my voice brushes across each word
Would you ponder?
As to be sure if it was your actual world
As I write
I pray my hands had the strength to hold
The truth about your world
What if I start to tell you your story?
Would your view on life be different?
And would it shock you most to find?
That the little things you thought defined
You
Could be summed up in just four lines
And all the ones you took for granted
The Mistake and success of everyday
Played a bigger part in who you are today
Than you would ever dare to say
I hope you could vow to make each moment one that you would be proud to read
Because, there, is the story of your life
But it is you who holds the pen
And I hope you fill the pages right
Before it reaches the end.
