Old Age
Old Age

As the time flies by, I realize I am not getting younger
As my beard turns grey, I realize I am getting older
The boiling blood that made me take on the world
Has slowed down allowing my age to build
My skin is no longer strong enough to withstand the hard weather
Loss of energy has put me in a state of bother
Old age is not the time to compete with others
It is when the reality registers we are leaving as loners
It is the time we understand that our voice can't be heard
We are no longer a flying bird but just a caged bird
The looming fate of a dry leaf
When it falls from a tree in disbelief
Age could just be a number
But it hits us like a thunder
Soul may never get older
But the body never gets younger
We see the young guns bursting with liveliness
We get a feeling that we are becoming useless
Our body doesn't follow our instructions
It withers down without any justifications
When we see our face in the mirror
Wrinkles reflecting our old age causes terror
Age is not something that we can bargain
We are becoming sensitive like a child again
No medicine can stop us from aging
Helplessness just goes on aggravating
We are just getting closer to the inevitable death
This is nothing but a gospel truth
Age could just be a number
But it hits us like a thunder
Soul may never get older
But the body never gets younger
