Not Welcome
Not Welcome
He looks out with his tired eyes,
Hoping that his son will come to visit him before he dies,
The old sad faces that surround him with tears,
For their children had their own fears,
That in old age of their parents they have to nurse,
For to them old age is nothing but a curse,
It does not cross these children's uncaring mind,
During their infancy, if parents had left them behind,
Then what would have been their destiny today.
They would have lost their way.
So today when they want a place in your home.
You make them feel as if they are not welcome.
Tomorrow you forget, for your children,
You also will not be welcome,
As they admit you to an old age home.
Then you will understand the pang of not being welcome,
When you are told to leave your own home.
