Not Everything, Not Yet

Not Everything, Not Yet

Have you lived a life full of death and despair?

Have you reached ends, where the disease kills desire?

You have only scratched the thin skin of mortality.

That's only one half of our fake reality.

You think you have fought and won.

You think you have seen it all.

But wait, death's still in the queue.

So, not everything, not yet.

Have you seen the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf?

Have you ridden the Trojan horse which elders believed was safe?

Have you lost all there is to all there isn't?

Look beyond your own pain, you will find what there wasn't.

You think the fun will soothe you, the sun will bathe you.

But wait, torture still wants to romance you.

So, not everything, not yet.

Have you nursed a wound with ice and honey?

Have you slept in the streets with no food and money?

Have you plunged into the battle to serve your country?

Or have you learned the knowledge to rain in prosperity?

Reality is much harsher than regularity.

But wait, social stigma still wants a piece of you.

So, not everything, not yet.

Have you ever written a poem and lost its summary?

Have you ever created a memoir and forgotten the memory?

Have you left your loved ones for the land of fantasy?

And come back home to find only solitude and misery.

You think ambition is desire and coincidence is destiny

But wait, dreams will become a nightmare to haunt you.

So, not everything, not yet.

So, give your food to the ones without,

Bring in peace to the worlds throughout,

Lend what you can, mend what you have,

Wishes of others become desire of yours.

Accept the truth and lies will become flowers.

But Alas! Nothing is ever everything and no time will be enough yet,

The greatest achievement in life will only come after death.
