Nosy Relatives

Nosy Relatives

1 min
13

My mobile ringtone continues to blare,

Till I pick it up only to stare,

At the caller ID — it’s one of my kin,

And I fight the urge to toss my mobile in the dustbin.

Another enquiry is on the way,

To know how did I spend my day,

What did I cook for lunch and dinner?

Unless I answered them, I was a sinner.

My life is akin to a daily soap,

Problems in abundance and relatives to cope,

For those who want to know what happened to me next,

Please don't bother to call me or text.

Instead, why don't you check out my social media post?

Season three of my problems has just gone live almost.

Scholars of WhatsApp University bombard me with advice,

As if I am not allowed to have my personal choice.

So, I come up with a solid plan,

Drain away my mobile's battery as fast as I can,

Let them hear the mobile is switched off,

At last, I get to have the last laugh.
