They say, ‘It’s our nation that keeps us united!’

I say, ‘That sounds nice! I feel protected!’

They say, ‘Yes, our nation has a strong military!’

I say, ‘Nice as they will protect me from the enemy!’

They say, ‘It’s our land that provides us food and water!’

I say, ‘Yes, I grow crops and sell them to the market player!’

They say, ‘Yes, you contribute to the nation’s GDP!’

I say, ‘Yes I feel proud as the nation becomes rich for me!’

They say, ‘Yes, you make us feel proud with your contribution!’

I say, ‘Nice! But why am I still poor in this great nation?’

They say, ‘Not true as now the per capita income is quite high!’

I ask, ‘What’s that? I still can’t afford a rich lifestyle!’

They say, ‘It’s the average income per person of our country.’

I say, ‘Okay. Why don’t I then get the per capita income for me?’

They say, ‘It’s complicated; the elite will not agree.’

I say, ‘Then why should I be proud of my unequal country?’
