My Type of Sorrow
My Type of Sorrow
Sorrow is like the rainbow,
It changes colors!
The effect is the same,
The eyes shedding tears!
Sometimes sorrow is grey,
Like an overcast sky
It threatens to lay bare your heart,
And yet you can't even cry!
Sometimes sorrow is green,
Made so by pure envy,
It makes your soul burn
The burden on your heart is heavy!
Sometimes sorrow is purple,
Like a big nasty bruised knee.
It hurts to just think of it,
You yearn to set it free!
Sometimes sorrow is red,
The bleeding heart crying.
Scarlet is the wounds deep
Yet, you hide from the eyes prying!
Sometimes sorrow is blue,
It's lying deep within you.
You can't express it in words,
Only you know how it's true!
Sometimes sorrow is yellow
It's brightly lit like the sun
Everyone can see its ugly face,
Even when far away you turn!
Sometimes sorrow is white,
It's the best one that there is!
It doesn't hurt you anywhere
It's just empty space!
Sometimes sorrow is black,
The deadliest of them all!
It consumes you from within!
Takes the heaviest toll!
And yet like the rainbow,
Making the monotone blue fade,
All sorrows are needed by us
To make all joys look like a fair trade!
