My Little Lantern...Guide Doom

My Little Lantern...Guide Doom

I remember the little lantern

I always loved that delighted our hearts

It never complained when wick burned

We never bothered as children of it

We fancied its glow and it kept us through in dark and cold rains

Years went the lantern was replaced

And we grew up to be what we are today

When the flame was low, we oiled the lamp, never said a word of gratitude but our pain and perils .

The lantern kept quite at a corner still smiling, burning for nothing but it kept on

A day it was put off...

We just bothered bad

Oh the lantern is gone, the wick badly burnt, never said a word ...the oil dried

The smile wiped off

Dad, I your prodigal daughter !!

But the one with a heart

I wish you just burnt and shine !!

It is dark and gloom and where is the gleam

I am Stumbling just quite show me the way

My little lantern of big hopes

Won't you enlighten my paths once more ..
