My Idol Moments

Something about them stirs my soul with spirits uplifting,

A surging urge to follow them, with a sense of belonging.

A Superstar with seamless love, Ma always my first choice, 

Also Pa for his love for family, his kindness and poise. 

Worshipped teachers who gave me lessons and reasons in ample, 

High moral standards and an attitude which they led by example. 

Admire my angelic Didi, the best person to be with,  

Righteous, intelligent, humorous, an ideal sister for real, no myth.

Teenage times, Mother Teresa and our school Sisters on a mission,

Wanting to enter a convent, stalled by family's "No Permission!" 

As a scholar, it was Abdul Kalam who ignited my mind,

Inspired by his simple honest ways, story one of a kind. 

Left starstruck by authors whose pen is thoughtful and exciting, 

Maya Angelou's unsurpassed free-spirited writing.  

In stepped hubby, who gave me dreams along with sound ideals, 

Concern for fellowmen, crusader for women, how good it feels!  

Growing up to her widened vision, infected by her laughter, 

Shows me the world through her kaleidoscope... Yes, that's my daughter. 

People never stop to bewitch me in their own inspiring ways,

As a fan of many idols have many ideals to chase.
