My Homeland

My Homeland

Dear mother,

I got bored here sitting alone without

you not beside me

It has been a long time since I spoke with you

Mom, I remember glaring at the stars,

I live in the land of heritage

The land of diversity

The land of monuments

The land of all religions.

Every single citizen get the right to follow

their own rules.

Every citizen remains under their own will.

Mom, I live in a country where peace rests forever.

Mom, I live in India.

Glaring the uttermost beauty of the night sky,

I remembered these were the words you used

 To describe our motherland, India.

Mom, I still wondered why did you lie to me that day,

So that, like everyone I would also not know the real state of my country which is full of diversity, hospitality, culture.

Mom, I reside in a country where every day at least one of our brave soldiers gave their lives to save our country.

Mom, I reside in a country where each individual gets shot by a bullet if do not maintain the law of political parties.

Mom, I reside in a country where newborns are known first by their genders and then they are known as humans.

Mom, I reside in a country where we can achieve anything by feeding money to the authorities. We can win any competition by partiality.

Mom, I live in a country where every day each woman or any young girl has to burn in the fire of sexual harassment.

Mom, You described this country as some far land heaven, but mom, I ended up seeing an internally corrupted country.

Mom, I will prefer to live in the lap yours than lie down in this country, full of hospitality

Mom, please take me with you in that sparkling stars.

I am ready to face my death than live here, where there is no respect for any individuals, where we are discriminated by our genders before we are humans, where we wear masks just to satisfy others' needs.

Mom I want to be with you.

I will be waiting for you on the balcony.
