My Dream

My Dream

98

I dream of kissing you in the rain-

In that backlot where we’d met,

A thousand times before.

I think of how I’d put my hands through your wet hair;

And slowly trace and lace them into your fingers.

As we’d both sigh and laugh,

A kiss I wish could only last,

For a lifetime and ever after.

These boyish dreams dying so fast,

While we fell apart faster

I still hope and dream for you and me,

And all the things we could have seen.

I pray the rain never washes away,

All the things we think and say.

I want you in this life and every other,

Cause’ with you, I never felt better.
